Apple has reportedly included a symbol of bitcoin (₿) into its library of iconography called SF Symbols. A Twitter user @shanaka86 first reported the update.

It remains unclear why Apple designed the symbol of the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization as no official statements were made so far.

The news comes after Strike CEO Jack Mallers posted a series of tweets hinting Apple might finally embrace bitcoin, even though it's still unclear in what form or when.

In November 2021, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed he personally owns cryptocurrencies for portfolio diversification. He declined to name the assets but admitted there are "things" that Apple is "definitely looking at" related to the cryptocurrency market.
