Vietnamese private automotive startup VinFast announced pre-sale for its first two electric vehicles with the help of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

As part of a reservation program for VinFast's first two EV models — VF e35 and VF e36 — the first customers booking VinFast EV will get an NFT "certifying their membership as a pioneer in VinFirst," the company wrote in a press release.

While no details about the initiative were reported, the Hai Phong-based company says the NFTs will enable customers "to verify their benefits." In the US, VinFast customers will have to deposit $200 to take part in a reservation program will an additional charge of $3,000 for the VF e35 and of $5,000 for the VF e36. The production schedule for the two SUVs is expected to begin later this year.
